metric

A metric is a measurement of a value which is of a specific metric type.

Example: “Resting heart rate” is a measurement of the heart rate which would have a metric type of “Beats per minute”.

metric entry

A record of a metric in the database.

metric instance

A concrete metric must have an instance. The instance gives it its name and metric type.

metric type

Every Metric has a type which represents its unit of measurement. Types include “Beats per minute”, “Kilogram”, “Scale of 10” etc.
